Beach Wedding in Bali

Sarah and Michael came all the way from the United States to celebrate their love in one of the most beautiful places on Earth - Bali. They chose Seminyak Beach for its stunning sunsets and laid-back atmosphere that perfectly matched their vision of an intimate, romantic wedding.

The day started early with preparation shots at their private villa. Sarah's vintage-inspired lace dress complemented the tropical setting beautifully, while Michael's linen suit kept things casual yet elegant. The attention to detail was evident in every aspect - from the handmade floral arrangements to the driftwood ceremony arch adorned with white orchids.

Behind the Scenes

What made this wedding truly special was the golden hour timing. We carefully planned the ceremony to coincide with the most magical light of the day. As the sun began its descent, the beach was bathed in warm amber tones, creating a natural glow that no amount of artificial lighting could replicate.

The couple exchanged vows barefoot on the sand, with only their closest family and friends present - about 20 guests in total. This intimate setting allowed us to capture genuine emotions and candid moments without the formality of a large wedding. The sound of waves crashing in the background added to the serene atmosphere.

The Challenge & Solution

Photographing a beach wedding at sunset comes with its challenges - harsh backlighting, moving clouds, and unpredictable wind. We used a combination of natural reflectors (the white sand worked beautifully) and subtle off-camera flash to balance the exposure while maintaining the natural ambiance.

The reception continued into the evening with a private dinner on the beach, illuminated by string lights and lanterns. We captured the first dance under the stars, spontaneous speeches, and the couple's joy as they celebrated with their loved ones long into the night.
